The United Benefice
of Knights Enham and Smannell with Enham Alamein
Vicar’s
Welcome
The parish of Knights Enham
is part of a United Benefice consisting of Knights Enham (which covers much
of the northern part of Andover town), and the two villages of Smannell and
Enham Alamein a couple of miles north of Andover. Most of the parish
consists of extensive residential estates comprising a substantial
population. There are two places of
worship in the parish of Knights Enham – the small 12th Century
Parish Church on the edge of town, where the early Sunday service, and many
of the pastoral services (baptisms, weddings and funerals) take place - and a
more modern Church Centre in the centre of the parish, where the main service
is held each Sunday. We are a small but
faithful and friendly congregation, keen to reach out into the community and
to be a growing Christian presence in the town. The Church Centre is a useful venue for
community activities. Our worship is
rooted in the Common Worship of the Anglican Church, and we offer both traditional
and more modern services to which people of all ages are welcome. There are also study groups available which
offer the opportunity to explore and strengthen aspects of faith and Church
life, in the context of fellowship and hospitality. We hope that you find the
Website both helpful and of interest.
If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me. And of course, you are always welcome to
join us at any time. God bless you. Yours sincerely in Christ, Revd Andrew Ashdown Priest in Charge of
Knights Enham and Smannell with Enham Alamein. Tel: 01264-357032 E-Mail: Andrew@evib.net |
